DIVIDING AND RELOCATING SPRING BULBS

NOT PRETTY at all, BUT…these Daffodill and Iris bulbs are going to be OK. I’ve started splitting them out of my Southern Garden and planting in other areas. Because our pine trees have areas where their roots are dangerous to the lawn mower, I’m putting these bulbs where we won’t strike the roots with the mower blade.

Daffodill bulbs come up, flower then go back down pretty quickly so they will not be there when the Iris bulbs bloom this summer. AND, behind the Iris bulbs is some pampas grass won’t hinderthe Iris bulbs because they too should have flowered and are no longer in their full glory.

This is my plan, I’ll let you know how this works out.

A word of caution at my age its NOT a good idea to dig with a shovel for 8 hours! Every part of my body was good except for my wrists and forearms…yikes. No crocheting, no computing nada nada.

SPRING IS HERE – WINTER CLEAN UP BEGINS

Sometimes you have to put down the crochet hook and lay aside the pattern notes, pens and pencils and papers and shuffle through the variety of fiber laying at the feet to go outside and smell the flowers, pickup the sticks and pull the weeds!

Nature is AMAZING! As I watch the weeping cherry, pear and crabapple burst their beautiful flowers into full glory, every day the flowers growing bigger and brighter in color, covering the branches from view, way before the leaves appear………when BAM along comes the storms that strips them apart. The grass below is littered with blossoms, the air looks like snow falling and I can’t help but wonder at the organization of it all. Then the rain comes and pounds all those seeds where they need to be to grow. Honestly, man just couldn’t set up anything like that and reach such perfection. I am always in awe and thank our Lord for such blessings.

May 2019 Calendar

May is one of my favorite months, here is why:

#1 I get to GARDEN, this year I’m going to plant TOMATO’S, POTATOES, CUCUMBERS, GREEN PEPPERS AND BROCCOLI

#2 I get to PULL WEEDS (WHA?), PULL AWAY the ground cover over my PEONIES

#3 Fill my hanging pots with FLOWERS

#4 Look for MOREL Mushrooms (I don’t eat them but I’ll help ♥)

#5 Most of all enjoy the warm SUNSHINE!

Enjoy May for all its beauty and warmth.
